About Student Wellbeing Student Wellbeing encompasses a variety of health, wellbeing, and academic services and supports at Toronto Metropolitan University that reflect a university community that is fully committed and engaged in developing and sustaining supportive environments that foster wellbeing and academic success. We offer services and support to students through six support areas: Academic Accommodation Support, Centre for Student Development & Counseling, Health Promotion Programs, Medical Centre, Test Centre and ThriveRU. For more information visit https://www.torontomu.ca/student-wellbeing/ Academic Accommodation Support (AAS) works confidentially and directly with incoming and returning students who live with both temporary and permanent disabilities that impact their academic functioning. Note-taking as an accommodation is provided to students as a result of fundamental barriers due to their disability that directly impact their access to note-taking in the classroom. As a note taker, you will provide students with equal access to the information in the classroom.

Responsibilities and Skills Attend all lecture, lab, and tutorial dates in relation to the course you are assigned to Provide clear, concise, and accurate typed notes by taking point form notes, emphasizing key points and takeaways of class content including lecture material, announcements, and other pertinent information relayed publicly to the class. Proofread, edit, and format notes prior to submitting Submit notes within 24 hours of the class end time to AAS Perform other duties as required servicing students registered with AAS

Required skills and qualifications include: Strong written communication and editing skills. Note takers should be able to provide clear, concise, and detailed notes in English, summarizing all class communication and content Punctuality and reliability are essential well-organized with a strong attention to detail Excellent organizational skills, including ability to manage time and meet deadlines Proficient in a word processing platform and G Suite (ie. Google Docs, Forms, Sheets) Ability to take notes in a variety of different styles - additional training will be provided if needed Polite and professional in all university settings Strong understanding around confidentiality and diversity A flexible schedule Ability to work independently

Other Details Total Hours of Work are not guaranteed, as we cannot predict the number of students that will require note taking support Contracts will last up to the total length of a semester, with the possibility of extension Must be a current TMU student Must be in 2nd year or higher, with all applicants maintaining a full-time course load and be in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher Applicants must submit a resume, sample of their in class notes, and a copy of their current unofficial transcript Access to a personal laptop is an asset
